We all have old, low-resolution, hopelessly blurry videos dating back several years, and with Adobe’s VideoGigaGAN, they can transform into stunning HD sequences with crisp details!
VideoGigaGAN is a generative AI model (I hear some people saying, “Yet another one…”). Essentially, it can guess the missing details in a low-quality video to make it more detailed and much more beautiful.
The Adobe devs have put up some examples on a GitHub repository (here: https://videogigagan.github.io/) and honestly, it’s impressive! You go from a crappy video to something super sharp, with mind-blowing textures and incredibly detailed! This AI can also upscale videos up to 8 times their original resolution!
However, let’s temper our excitement for the time being, as it’s merely a research demo with no official release date as of yet 🙁 Nonetheless, the potential is certainly promising, and we remain hopeful for its imminent arrival.
